The “Cura Italia” decree faces the Coronavirus emergency and establishes a 130 million fund dedicated to entertainment, cinema and audiovisual.

MiBACT takes action supporting and contributing economically to the recovery of the audiovisual sector, through the establishment of a fund made up of 80 million euros, for the current portion, and the remaining 50 millions for capital interventions.

The negative impact of Coronavirus is therefore contained through a solution that grants help not only to operators in the sector, but also to artists, authors, performers, providing a bonus of 600 euros for self-employed workers, to be paid one-off. The decree also includes a note about refunds with vouchers for cinema tickets, which had to close to viewers due to the Covid-19 emergency.

Giancarlo Leone, President of APA, has thanked MiBACT for its support, with a post on Twitter: “The extraordinary measures taken by the government to support the world of audiovisual and cinema are an important sign of acknoledgement of a sector that is crucial for culture and employment. A special acknoledgement  goes to Mibact for the measures taken.”
