The presentation of the next edition of Giornate Professionali Estive Ciné (Professional Summer Days Ciné) took place at the Italian Pavilion in Cannes.Supported by ANICA, ANEC and ANEM, the event will be held from 4 to 7 July in Riccione. The upcoming movie release schedules will be showcased during these days. The President of ANICA Francesco Rutelli has also announced that a meeting on the future of our cinema will take place in Rome on 13 June in the presence of Minister Dario Franceschini. The subject of the debate will be the tax credit law, currently pending implementing decrees that “need ministerial agreements, registrations, opinions at European level that take time and might create some concern” the President said. “We are working in an entirely positive spirit by pandering what here in Cannes is called a sort of Italian Nouvelle Vague”.

Lucky Red’s Andrea Occhipinti stated: “Riccione’s days will be reserved to distributors and tradespeople. We have confidence in the new law and we have to prove to be important interlocutor at national and international level”.

Remigio Truocchio gave a little foretaste of the programme, including the preview of Disney’s Atomic Blonde, starring Charlize Theron, Cinema in Piazza (Movies in the square) for kids under 13 years old and a partnership with Giffoni Film Festival. Moreover, Ciné renewed the partnership with Ciak magazine, awarding the Golden Ciak for best comedy. Piera Detassis, the magazine’s director, then spoke of the project Women in Film, with which “we will focus on where the female cinema goes and especially its humorous side, since sometimes female irony scares”.
