Premio Carlo Bixio, now in its twelfth edition, opens the call for entries for young authors, aged between 18 and 35, of scripts and concepts for television drama. The call for entries closes on 4 September 2024 at 6pm and the winners will be announced during the Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo (MIA) 2024 in Rome.

For aspiring authors, Premio Carlo Bixio, organised by RAI, APA (Associazioni Produttori Audiovisivi) and RTI (Reti Televisive Italiane S.p.A.), is a unique opportunity to see their talent enhanced on the Italian audiovisual scene.

New for this edition is a cash prize of five thousand euros for the author whose screenplay will stand out the most, capable of attracting an international audience, thanks to the participation of SanPaolo Invest, of the Fideuram Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking Group.

Five thousand euros will also be the value of the prize that the SIAE (Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori) will award to the most original screenplay, which will stand out for its content considered innovative and creative.

In addition to the prizes, two plaques will also be awarded: “Best Concept” and “Best Screenplay”: the former to recognise the best ideas for TV series; the latter dedicated to the most original unpublished screenplay. The winners will also receive a licensing contract with RTI. The value of the prizes will be €5,000 and €10,000 for the respective sections, which will be earmarked for the multimedia exploitation of the winning projects.
