Apple makes its TV debut too. Like other internet companies, the Cupertino-based business enters the audiovisual market by producing original TV contents. The field already had Hulu and Netflix, besides the e-commerce giant Amazon and the Chinese Alibaba. The first episode of Planet of the Apps just aired on iTunes: a ten-episode talent show about app developers’ life. The show is hosted by the New Zealand DJ Zane Lowe and it stars some young developers who try to convince four advisors to choose their own idea. The four judges are actresses Jessica Alba and Gwyneth Paltrow, rapper and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am. and tech entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk.
