Italy’s Got Funds! Italy is presenting the new funds exclusively to support minority co-productions by Italian producers and the export and distribution of Italian films abroad.

“This operation, wanted among others by Mibac and MiSe – explains Roberto Cicutto, President of Istituto Luce Cinecittà – will create not only more resources to favour companies and their products, but it is also the first great instrument that brings together in a virtuous way the needs of cultural production and support to producer companies”. Nicola Borrelli, General Director of Cinema at the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, describing the new tools, underlines: “A 5 million euros fund is dedicated to minority co-productions, which will be operational next year. This marks the end of a difficult journey to meet the needs of the operators themselves. The football field is ready for players, now it’s time to play”.

On the occasion of the event dedicated to sales agents and local distributors around the world, Roberto Stabile, Head of International Relations – ANICA, describes how these calls for proposals were created, underlining the involvement of trade associations: “They are the result of months of work and consultation with trade associations, satisfying their needs. The main fund of 1.2 million euros is for Italian international distributions”.
