Changes are in sight on Amazon Prime Video. An email sent by Amazon to its customers pointed out that as of April 9, “a limited number of advertisements” will be added to the platform. Already in late January, Amazon began this “transition “starting with the United States. Gradually, in addition to Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany will be added, and then France, Spain, Mexico, and Australia.

“This news will allow us to continue to invest in quality content and increase these investments over time and consequently support the maintenance of the quality and quantity of content included in Prime Video. We aim to have significantly fewer ads than linear television and other streaming services,” Amazon announced.

It will be possible to avoid advertising by paying an additional €1.99 per month.
