A big studios complex is being built in Abu Dhabi. The UAE capital has decided to invest in international cinema, which had already chosen it to shoot some Hollywood films such as Dune, Star Wars and Fast and Furious, attracting Bollywood productions including ‘Bharat’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.

The state-owned twofour54 studios will span an area of more than 40,000 hectares, comprising offices, post-production facilities and screening rooms, and “will be a future-proof, virtual production-ready, metaverse-enabled and full-fledged production destination, capable of meeting the strong demand of the regional and global production landscape,” reads a company statement.

“The creative industries have been identified as one of Abu Dhabi’s priority sectors, given the important economic and social value they create,” said Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, CEO of twofour54 Abu Dhabi, parent company of the ADNEC Group. “We are proud to further Abu Dhabi’s vision of becoming a leading global content creation destination through twofour54 Studios. This project will take film and TV production to the next level, creating jobs and contributing to the local economy after its completion in 2025.”
