The new jury president for the Venice Film Festival

The president of Venice film festival has been just announced. Guillermo Del Toro (film director of Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone) will be the next president, he won last year award with the Shape Of Water, this film is now candidate for 13 Oscar awards. Guillermo Del Toro has declared “To serve as president in Venice is an immense honor and responsibility that I accept with respect and gratitude. Venice is a window to world cinema and the opportunity to celebrate its power and cultural relevance”. For the director Alberto Barbera, Guillermo Del Toro “personifies generosity, a love for movies past or future, and a passion for the kind of cinema that can spark emotions, affect people and, at the same time, make them reflect”.
