The first edition of Lazio Cinema International 2025 has been published — an initiative supporting international audiovisual works with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of film production companies and related industries, while also enhancing the international visibility of Lazio’s tourist destinations.

A key point of reference for SMEs in the film and audiovisual sector, the call is funded by the ERDF Lazio Programme 2021–2027 under Strategic Objective 1 – “A more competitive and smarter Europe” and Specific Objective 3 – “Enhancing the growth and competitiveness of SMEs.” The total budget amounts to €5 million, of which €2.5 million is specifically allocated to audiovisual works that choose Lazio as a filming location, thereby promoting the region.

Independent producers who hold the rights to the audiovisual work and are eligible for the Tax Credit for film production may apply, provided they qualify as SMEs with an operational headquarters in the Lazio region. Each company may submit only one project.

The call is open to a wide range of international productions, including:

  • International co-productions, made under bilateral agreements between Italy and other countries;

  • TV or web productions, featuring a significant Italian and foreign share (at least 20% each);

  • Animation, fiction, and documentary works that meet minimum requirements in terms of duration and budget:

    • 52 minutes and €1.5 million for films;

    • €2,000 per minute for TV fiction;

    • €400 per minute for documentaries and animation.

Audiovisual works whose filming has already started at the time of application submission are not eligible.

Applications may be submitted exclusively through the GeCoWEB Plus platform by Lazio Innova, from September 30, 2025 to October 28, 2025.
