Netflix hired Lisa Taback, the “queen” of the Oscars. Unknown to the general public, Lisa Taback is known in the film industry as the author of the campaigns for the most successful Oscars in Hollywood. Just to name a few films from recent years: La La Land, Moonlight, Shakespeare in Love, The English Patient, Chicago, The King’s Speech, The Artist, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Life is Beautiful. Initially trained with Harvey Weinstein, for whom she worked in the first decades of her professional life as an event organizer, now for Netflix she will deal mainly with Rome by Alfonso Cuaròn. Winning the evening to a film in Mexican, without star, in black and white and which has already been seen by many on television, will not be an easy task. The competition is very strong and for Netflix this year there is not only an award that brings an excellent return in terms of sales, tickets and home videos for the film, but the very legitimacy of society in the world of cinema and the peremptory affirmation that important films are not only in theaters, but also on television.
