A new EU-supported investment fund has been launched to strengthen regional content production by investing in independent European production companies. Called the Together Fund, it is managed by Paris-based Axio Capital and co-founded by former European Producers Club head Alexandra Lebret and Axio partner Antoine Bodet.
The initiative is part of MediaInvest, a programme led by the European Investment Fund (EIF) and launched in 2022, aiming to channel around €400 million in private investment into Europe’s audiovisual sector over five years. The Together Fund will take minority stakes in established indie companies, offering long-term support over a ten-year cycle to help them grow while preserving their independence.
The fund currently totals nearly €60 million, including €25 million committed by the EIF, with expected investments of approximately €4 million per company. Funding may be used for various purposes, including team expansion and IP acquisition. Around 40 companies are already under consideration.
Although the fund will mainly focus on scripted production companies, it is expected to expand further, with new partners to be announced in the coming months. The Together Fund is positioning itself as the first equity fund in Europe dedicated exclusively to the TV and film production sector.
