The Dolomiti Film Festival is ready to begin. Now in its fifth edition, the festival—born from an idea by Gooliver APS and Settimo Binario, and led by artistic directors Federico Massa and Tommaso Brugin—will take place from July 24 to 27, 2025, in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites, between Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Cadore region.

Once again this year, four days will be dedicated to rediscovering the value of the mountains, told through the language of cinema and dialogue with exceptional guests.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 24 at Casa Esselunga in Cortina with a special evening dedicated to Paralympic sports, featuring a screening of Over The Edge, a documentary produced by Avilab. On Friday, July 25, director Marco Segato will present his documentary Mar de Molada. Saturday, July 26 will host the awards ceremony for the international competition. That same day, at the Alexander Hall in Cortina, there will be a special event in collaboration with “Una Montagna di Libri,” featuring two legends of Italian sports: Kristian Ghedina and Roland Fischnaller.

Throughout the festival, the 22 documentaries selected for the international competition—chosen from over 100 submissions from 26 countries—will be screened, focusing on sport, the environment, and mountain culture. The awards ceremony will honor the Best Documentary on Environment and Culture, the Best Sports Documentary, the Special Jury Prize, and the Inclusive Mountain Award. The festival will conclude on Sunday, July 27 with a “best of” screening of the competition films.
