The foundation of the pan-European drama group Asacha Media Group, dedicated to the creation and production of original audiovisual content, has been announced, with the majority of two Italian companies in the sector.

The group acquired a majority stake in the Italian companies Stand by Me and Picomedia and the French company Mintee Studio, founded and led by de Chavagnac himself and the film and theater producers Jacques Salles and Floriane Crotes.

Simona Ercolani, founder, CEO and Creative Director of Stand by Me, will hold the position of Chief Creative Officer Entertainment, Factual & Kids for Asacha Media Group; Francesco Nespega and Giuliano Tranquilli, respectively President and Head of Content and International Business Development of Stand By Me, become shareholders. As for Picomedia, the founder Roberto Sessa will join the Asacha Media Group Supervisory Board.

Asacha Media Group is co-founded by Gaspard de Chavagnac, Marina Williams – as Co-CEO – and Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, in the role of vice president of the Supervisory Board.

The partners and founders of the acquired production houses will invest in Asacha Media Group together with US finance group Oaktree Captial Management. The idea is to develop high-quality original content in non-English language (feature films, documentaries, TV series, factuals, entertainment programs) for the main streaming platforms and the most important broadcasters in the EMEA area, with particular attention to France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Central and Eastern European countries.
