Ten short films have been selected as finalists for the Reply AI Film Festival, the international competition created by Reply – an international group specializing in the development of new business models enabled by AI and Digital Media – aimed at creatives who have used Artificial Intelligence tools in the creation of their projects.

This year, over 2,500 short films were submitted from 67 countries. The theme of this edition, Generation of Emotions, challenged participants to use AI to generate and convey authentic, engaging emotions through cinematic language.
The winners will be announced on September 4th at the Mastercard Priceless lounge at the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido, coinciding with the 82nd Venice International Film Festival organized by La Biennale di Venezia.

The jury, chaired by Gabriele Muccino and composed of Rob Minkoff, Caleb & Shelby Ward, Denise Negri, Dave Clark, Charlie Fink, Filippo Rizzante, Caroline Ingeborn, Paolo Moroni, and Guillem Martinez Roura, will present three main awards to works distinguished by originality, high production quality, and a conscious use of AI. The goal of the festival is to highlight new frontiers in storytelling and production, presenting AI as a catalyst in the creative process, rather than a replacement.

New to this edition are the Lexus Visionary Award, which will honor the most visionary and innovative production that best integrates technology, design, and future insight; and the AI for Good Award, promoted in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which will go to the best short film that highlights the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
