The Morandini Platform – For the Criticism and History of Italian Cinema is now online. Promoted by the Laura and Morando Morandini Association and conceived by Amedeo Fago, the platform celebrates the centenary of Morando Morandini, one of the most influential film critics of the 20th century.
Funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU through the Italian Ministry of Culture and Invitalia, the platform serves as a collaborative space open to film and criticism professionals. Its main goal is to highlight independent, experimental, and lesser-known Italian cinema through narratives, testimonials, and archival materials.
In addition to a section dedicated to Morandini’s legacy, the project includes an educational area divided into “The Critic’s Craft” and “The Professions of Cinema,” featuring insights from industry experts. This initiative preserves the past while projecting it into the future through new digital technologies.
