The fourth edition of MIA, the International Audiovisual Market, starts today under the editorial direction of Lucia Milazzotto.

1800 players from all over the world, over 125 market screenings, around 400 buyers, 4 windows of exclusive screenings in preview dedicated to next year’s films, TV series and documentaries; 58 projects coming from 21 countries in the pitching forum, between feature films, TV series and documentaries still under development; over 30 thousand meetings in 4 days, 40 Talks that focus on issues analyzed in-depth and related to the world of audiovisual, including diversity, a Focus on UK enriched by other events, in order to explore new British business models during the Brexit passage; a panel on the link between printed paper and docs (from the New York Times productions to the Guardian to Der Spiegel).

Meetings with the great protagonists of cinema and TV series, the most interesting trendsetters of the international market, including British producer Damian Jones (producer of over 30 films, including titles by Michael Winterbottom, Danny Boyle, Noel Clarke), Walter Iuzzolino, founder of Walter Presents, the CEO of the Israeli giant Keshet International Alon Shtruzman, Wild, Wild Country’s producer, Josh Braun, and the award-winning documentary filmmakers Micheal Apted and Bryan Fogel. Also, upcoming films, documentaries and television productions shall be presented at MIA.

In the documentary category, Italians Doc it Better, La strada dei Samouni (Dugong,) La Passione di Anna Magnani (Zenit,) Il filo dell’Alleanza (Istituto Luce / R Reporter,) 1938, diversi (Tangram Film,) The Hijacker (Fremantle.) The three windows of Italian docs, besides being screened in exclusive viewing to the most important key players of the international panorama, can rely on a Special Lazio Region Award.

MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo is an original and cross-cutting format, unique within the domestic and international landscape, where new trade, coproduction and export opportunities can be found and exploited. It is produced by a Temporary Grouping between ANICA and APT and financed by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Lazio Region and the Media Programme.
