Palomar, the production company founded and chaired by Carlo Degli Esposti, has signed final agreements with Mediawan, a company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange that operates as a platform for independent productions of dramas, animation, documentaries and in the distribution of audiovisual productions and TV channels. Mediawan thus enters with a 72% stake in Palomar, and Degli Esposti and Nicola Serra, the General Manager of the Roman company, have acquired a minority stake in the French group. This new European partnership will allow the producer of Inspector Montalbano and Braccialetti rossi to expand further into markets around the world, while maintaining the current management and strengthening its international vocation as confirmed by its latest products, the film La paranza dei bambini, taken from the book of the same name by Roberto Saviano, which will be in competition at the next Berlin Film Festival, and with the TV series The name of the Rose, taken from Umberto Eco‘s bestseller, which will be broadcast by Rai1 in March 2019.
