A funding allocation of three million euros has been designated by the Lazio Region for movie theaters across the entire Lazio territory.
These funds, derived from the 2014–2020 Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC), aim to enhance 90 multiplex cinemas throughout the region—covering a total of 391 screens—in order to make them more competitive.
This funding is crucial, as acknowledged by Leandro Pesci, president of ANEC Lazio. It not only enables theater operators to invest in technological innovation, structural upgrades, accessibility, and safety, but also serves as a recognition of the important role that cinemas continue to play.
Another small step in support of the film industry is found in Regional Bill 171/2024, which was recently approved by the Council. The bill seeks to establish a more suitable regulatory framework for the sector’s development.
