From May 7 to 11, Cinema Barberini will host the 18th edition of La Nueva Ola – Festival of Spanish and Latin American Cinema, directed by Iris Martin-Peralta and Federico Sartori. A key event for Ibero-American cinema in Italy, the festival will feature exclusive premieres, special guests, and a selection of the finest films from Spain and Latin America.
Among the most anticipated titles are Soy Nevenka by Icíar Bollaín, Reinas by Klaudia Reynicke, and Volveréis by Jonás Trueba, winner at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. The Clásicos section will celebrate the 40th anniversary of La historia oficial, the Oscar-winning Argentine masterpiece.
After Rome, the festival will tour several Italian cities, with an exciting new stop: for the first time, it will arrive in Brescia from September 17 to 21. This year’s official visual identity is once again designed by Catalan artist Alfredo Palmero.
