Announced the winners of the 65th edition of the Globo d’Oro, the award given by the Foreign Press Association in Italy to the best Italian film production of the year. The award ceremony was held in Rome at the Sala della Protomoteca del Campidoglio.

Great success for Il Nibbio by Alessandro Tonda which wins the Globo d’Oro as Best Film, but also the Best Actor award addressed to Claudio Santamaria, for his masterful interpretation of Nicola Calipari, an Italian agent who died on a mission.

The award fot Best Documentary goes to Il mestiere di vivere by Giovanna Gagliardo, succeeded to identify spectators with life and writing of Cesare Pavese. Ciao bambino by Edgardo Pistone wins the Best First Feature award, whereas Gabriele Mainetti gets the Globo d’Oro for the Best Director with La Città proibita.

Le assaggiatrici, by Silvio Soldini, wins the Globo for the Best Screenwriting. The film was written by Doriana Leondeff, Silvio Soldini, Cristina Comencini, Giulia Calenda, Ilaria Macchia and Lucio Ricca. Barbara Bobulova wins the Best Actress award for her role in Per il mio bene by Mimmo Verdesca. In category Young Promise, award was bestowed to Beatrice Barison, the pianist and actress of La vita accanto by Marco Tullio Giordana.

Best Photography award goes to Maurizio Calvesi for L’Abbaglio by Roberto Andò, whereas Federico De’ Robertis wins the Best Soundtrack award with Napoli New York.

During the evening were awarded the master Pupi Avati, who has received the Lifetime Achievement Award and the icon of cinema Isabella Rossellini, who has received the Foreign Press Award.
