The Italian Audiovisual Producers Association (APA) President, Giancarlo Leone, submitted his proposals during the fifth day of Stati Generali dell’Economia – held in Villa Pamphilj – for a better restart of the audiovisual industry.

The main ideas suggested by President Leone to the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and to the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Tourism (MiBACT) Dario Franceschini were:

  • the doubling of the Fund for productive investment development, currently set at € 400mln per year for the entire sector;
  • a reform of Tax credit, the main instrument of access to the Fund for producers, in order to allow the resumption of audiovisual productions;
  • a review in the mechanism of the Rai fee automatic withdrawal by the State.

President Leone declared: “MiBACT is with us. Nevertheless, more resources and solutions for insurance guarantees are required. The resumption of audiovisual and cinematographic production depends on these solutions.”
