In just a few days, Rome will become the exclusive set of Fuori Sala, the new format by Alice nella città, which will bring cinema into the streets of the historic center of the Capital. This initiative anticipates the 23rd edition of the Festival directed by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli and will conclude in November with the extraordinary participation of Robert De Niro.

The program includes a rich calendar of talks, readings, events, and appointments focused on female empowerment, with the goal of celebrating both audiovisual art and the iconic streets of Rome.

Key locations of the initiative will be the triangle of Via Condotti, Piazza di Spagna, Via del Babuino, Via Margutta, and Piazza del Popolo in October, followed by the district around Via Veneto, Barberini, and Via Bissolati in November.
The events will be held in prestigious venues such as Hotel De La Ville, Hotel De Russie, Splendide Royal, Hotel Hassler, and Hotel Eden, as well as Palazzo Ripetta, Palazzo Talia, and in collaboration with the associations of Via Condotti, Via Margutta, and Via del Babuino.

The calendar kicks off with the “Notte Bianca” (White Night) on October 14 in Via Margutta, featuring the extraordinary opening of over 30 galleries, along with exhibitions, performances, and readings related to the Womenlands project — an initiative aimed at promoting the role of women in society.

The program will also include the stand-up comedy show “Esagerate!” by actress and Amleta president Cinzia Spanò, as well as the initiative “I Am Womenlands”, a project born from the collaboration between Alice nella città and the non-profit production company We Do It Together, founded by director and producer Chiara Tilesi.
This initiative will culminate in a flash mob on October 18 in the iconic Piazza di Spagna, accompanied by a live performance by Tosca. On this occasion, director Carla Simón and Palestinian activist Reem Hajajreh — a 2025 Nobel Peace Prize nominee — will receive the Womenlands Excellence Award.

There will also be a literary focus with the event “From Book to Screen”, a series of literary encounters, book presentations tied to films and TV series, and talks with authors such as Rocco Papaleo (Perdere tempo mi viene facile) and Rossana Soldano (Hamartìa), along with a special event with Alessandro Ferrucci based on his book Non sai cosa è successo.

Also noteworthy is the Via Condotti Award, which celebrates excellence in promoting Rome around the world. Established in 1977, the award has honored outstanding figures such as Federico Fellini, Rita Levi-Montalcini, and Audrey Hepburn.

The entire initiative will conclude in November with the traditional Japanese ceremony Kagami Biraki, a symbol of harmony and good fortune, featuring the extraordinary presence of Robert De Niro. On this occasion, the Hollywood actor will be awarded the Lupa Capitolina, an honor bestowed by the City of Rome to distinguished and deserving individuals.
