The Ministry of Culture has officially announced the allocation of the 2025 Cinema and Audiovisual Fund, totaling €696 million. Decree No. 55 of March 6, 2025, defines how these resources will be distributed to support the entire Italian film and audiovisual industry.
A significant portion of the budget, €412 million, is allocated to tax credits to incentivize film production, distribution, and exhibition. Another €129 million is dedicated to automatic and selective grants, supporting the development and production of new works.
Special attention is given to promotion, with €111 million set aside for festivals and cultural initiatives. Additionally, €20 million will be invested in cinema venue enhancements, while €3 million will go toward the digitization and preservation of audiovisual heritage. Lastly, €21 million is earmarked for training and skill development in the sector.
These funds aim to make the industry more competitive by supporting national productions and encouraging international collaboration. There is also a strong focus on expanding film culture, leveraging digital opportunities and modernizing infrastructure.
