The 23rd edition of Alice nella città was officially presented today in Rome. The festival will take place from October 15 to 26, 2025, alongside the Rome Film Festival. Founded in 2003 by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli, Alice nella città has developed a strong independent identity and an international profile, becoming a key platform for films dedicated to younger audiences.

This year’s program features 11 films in competition, 6 out-of-competition titles, and a new Panorama Italia selection, along with retrospectives, special screenings, and meetings with filmmakers and industry professionals. A strong focus remains on young audiences, with educational initiatives and events spread throughout the city.

During the press conference, a collaboration with MIA Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo was announced. For the first time, at the 2025 edition, MIA will host UNBOX Short Film Days. Curated by Francesco Giai Via, the initiative will provide young filmmakers with a dedicated space for short films, including B2B meetings, pitching sessions, and networking opportunities. Supported by SIAE and Rai Cinema, the project is designed as a platform for emerging talent, further strengthening the festival’s international scope.

Through this partnership, Alice nella città strengthens its mission to support new talent and foster connections between young creativity and the international audiovisual industry.
