The 82nd Venice International Film Festival will take place at the Lido from August 27 to September 6.
This year’s Competition line-up features five Italian titles: Grace (Paolo Sorrentino), Elisa by Leonardo di Costanzo, Duse (Pietro Marcello), Bravo Bene! (Franco Maresco), and Below The Clouds (Gianfranco Rosi). Highly anticipated is also Noah Baumbach’s Jay Kelly, partly filmed in Italy and starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler.
Beyond the main competition, the festival offers a rich Fuori Concorso program, including fiction and non-fiction features, cinema and music specials, series and short films. Highlights include My Tennis Maestro (Andrea di Stefano), Orfeo (Virgilio Villoresi) and The Holy Boy (Paolo Strippoli).
The Orizzonti section once again showcases new cinematic voices, with works such as The Kidnapping of Arabella (Carolina Cavalli) and Un Anno Di Scuola (Laura Samani).
On the red carpet, international stars are set to bring additional glamour. Julia Roberts arrives with Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt, George Clooney joins the cast of Jay Kelly, and Adam Driver and Cate Blanchett headline Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother.
