According to Leandro Pesci, president of ANEC Lazio, regional investments represent an important step in supporting the evolution of cinemas through measures focused on safety, technological innovation, accessibility, energy efficiency and comfort.
He stresses that this support helps strengthen the role of cinemas as cultural, social and economic hubs within local communities.
The Lazio Region is part of this programme and is ready to support 42 projects aimed at strengthening the network of cinemas through redevelopment and upgrading works. The goal is to modernise these spaces and improve the conditions in which films are enjoyed.
The initiative covers venues located across Rome and its surrounding province and represents one of the most significant plans for the renewal and enhancement of cinema facilities.
Lazio will allocate a total of €4,165,805.50 as part of the programme “Support and Competitive Relaunch of Cinemas and Film Arenas in Lazio”, funded by the Development and Cohesion Fund.
A total of 46 applications were submitted, of which 42 projects were deemed eligible. Initially, €2,930,529.34 had been allocated for 26 projects; subsequently, the Region approved an additional €1,235,276.16 to fund a further 16 projects.
Each project provides for a contribution equal to 70% of eligible expenditure, up to a maximum of €140,000.
