Coming up from October 13 to 25 is the 2026 Rome Film Festival, celebrating its twenty-first edition with 55 countries represented and a programme full of titles to discover. Among the titles announced at the press conference is also Brianza by Simone Catania, selected in the Progressive Cinema competition.
The film, set in 2010, follows the story of Giorgio Farina, an entrepreneur running the family business, who, due to reckless investments and the economic crisis, is driven toward a bankruptcy he desperately tries to hide, ultimately committing an unexpected act for someone known as an honest man. It is an Italy-Switzerland co-production, produced by Indyca and Beauvoir Films, starring Paolo Pierobon, Fausto Russo Alesi, Marina Rocco and Giovanni Calcagno.
The project had already passed through MIA in 2022, when it was presented as a project in development in the Wanna Taste It section of the Film Co-Production Market. A fine achievement for Brianza, which confirms MIA as an important springboard for Italian projects and which now brings Simone Catania among the protagonists of this edition of the Rome Film Festival.
