Cinema Revolution 2026 is set to return.

From June 19 to September 20, the initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture will once again encourage audiences to attend movie theaters during the summer season while supporting the circulation of Italian and European cinema.

Once again, audiences will be able to watch participating Italian and European films with a reduced ticket price of €3.50. The project therefore continues the path started in recent years, which has helped redefine the seasonality of the Italian film market, traditionally concentrated during the autumn and winter months.

According to data released by the Ministry of Culture, the 2025 edition recorded more than 2.1 million admissions for Italian and European films screened during the summer period, generating over €13 million at the box office. These results have strengthened the role of the initiative as a tool to support the film industry and expand cultural offerings during the summer months.

One of the main new features of the 2026 edition concerns the selection of titles included in the program. Unlike previous editions, support will be reserved exclusively for Italian films and productions from European Union countries, with the aim of further strengthening the visibility of national and European productions on the domestic market.

Alongside Cinema Revolution, Cinema in Festa will also return from June 15 to June 18 and from September 21 to September 24. The initiative will include both European productions and international blockbusters, contributing to support summer programming in movie theaters.

The 2026 edition confirms the collaboration between institutions, distributors, and exhibitors in a shared strategy aimed at consolidating movie theater attendance even during months traditionally considered less competitive for the box office.
