Arte Sciopero is coming to theaters, the documentary directed by Luca Immesi, written and produced together with Hélène Nardini, which takes viewers into the heart of one of the most visionary and radical artistic performances in the history of contemporary art: the Art Strike by Galeazzo Nardini.
Selected for Italians Doc It Better at MIA Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo 2024, the film retraces Galeazzo’s life and controversial choices through previously unseen archival materials – photographs, Super 8 footage, and videos – alongside exclusive interviews, exploring how the Art Strike influenced every aspect of his existence. Hélène Nardini, the artist’s daughter and guardian of his legacy, guides viewers through an intimate and universal journey, revealing the inseparable bond between art and life.
Among the voices featured in the documentary are Pier Luigi Tazzi, Achille Bonito Oliva, Valentino Catricalà, Gian Luca Farinelli, as well as Fluxus artists Ben Vautier and Giuseppe Chiari.
