Streets of Minneapolis, the new video accompanying Bruce Springsteen’s song of the same name, has been released shortly after the track’s surprise debut. The clip is directed by Thom Zimny, Springsteen’s long-time collaborator and the filmmaker behind many of the artist’s recent projects, who was also a guest at the latest edition of MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo, within the MIA Doc section.
The video intercuts footage of Springsteen performing the song with archive images related to events in Minneapolis, selected by photographer Pam Springsteen, the artist’s sister. Zimny’s direction adopts a stripped-back, documentary-style approach that closely reflects the urgency and tone of the song.
Streets of Minneapolis further reinforces the creative partnership between Springsteen and Zimny, whose work includes several documentaries focused on the musician’s studio process and live performances. Within 24 hours of its release, the video reached millions of views across Springsteen’s official social channels, drawing significant public attention.
