At the Zurich Summit, Tilly Norwood was introduced as the first real “digital actress”.
The project was created by Xicoia and developed under Particle6, the company founded and led by actress and entrepreneur Eline Van der Velden.
During the presentation, Van der Velden explained that, until a few months ago, people in the industry – including production companies – were doubtful about working with a digital actress.
Now, however, the attitude has changed: soon it will be revealed which agency will officially represent Tilly, showing that the project is gaining attention and credibility.
Tilly has already appeared online with her first post on Facebook: a comedy video that looks realistic and demonstrates the potential of this experiment.
Of course, there are also criticisms.
Many actors and professionals in the field are worried about the use of digital performers.
Van der Velden, however, replied that Tilly is not meant to replace human actors, but to be an addition and offer new creative opportunities.
