Annette Hill is a Professor of Media and Communication at Lund University, Sweden and Visiting Professor at King’s College London. With over twenty years of experience as a researcher, she has collaborated with media producers, policy organisations, and creatives on media engagement, e.g. on Big Brother, The Bridge, Utopia, MasterChef, BBC, SVT, Channel 4, Freemantle Media, EndemolShine, and Samsung Nordics. Her research focuses on audiences and popular culture, with interests in media engagement, everyday life, genres, production studies and cultures of viewing. Author of nine books, and many articles and book chapters, her work addresses the varieties of engagement with reality television, news and documentary, television drama, entertainment formats, live events and sports entertainment.
