The Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, has signed two decrees to support the Italian audiovisual sector.
120 million euros for the public support for cinemas and are divided into two measures: the first, worth € 100 million euros, strengthens the Fund for cinema and audiovisual to finance the investments of film and audiovisual companies, from production to distribution. The second, worth € 20 million, enhances the measures in support of cinemas: a € 10,000 non-refundable grant is assigned to each theater that requests it, to which an additional contribution, calculated proportionally to the missed collections, will be added.
To these 20 million euros, another 20 will be added soon as soon as the amendment to the Rilancio decree is approved in Parliament, on which MiBACT has already given a favorable opinion.
The two decrees are a further use of the “Emergency film and entertainment fund” set up with the Cura Italia decree, with an endowment of 130 million euros – then raised to 245mln by the Rilancio Decree.
