The Cannes Film Festival is officially postponed to a date to be defined due to Covid-19 emergency and related security measures implemented worldwide.

The 2020 edition, initially scheduled for 12-23 May, may take place in June or July, but the decision remains uncertain, being linked to the usual launch press conference, also deferred.

The Marché du Film in Cannes, of which director Jérome Paillard had announced an online version, will also be delayed and produced in conjunction with the traditional edition of the initiative.

The possibility of temporarily suspending the 73rd edition of the Cannes Film Festival was constantly rejected by the organizers, but then implemented in order to move the film festival to a safer historic moment.
